West hizo un acuerdo valorado en más de mil millones de dólares, con Adidas en 2013 que terminó dramáticamente cuando Adidas decidió terminar cualquier relación con West por emitir comentarios antisemitas en 2022.
Más de 246 millones de dólares fue lo que costó a Adidas otras el resultado final de esta relación:
“Adidas no tolera el antisemitismo ni ningún otro tipo de discurso de odio, los recientes comentarios y acciones de West han sido inaceptables, odiosos y peligrosos, y violan los valores de la empresa de diversidad e inclusión, respeto mutuo y equidad”.
Después de este comunicado, el comportamiento de West fue empeorando con el tiempo. “No queda ni un solo zapato Yeezy” dijo el director financiero de Adidas, Harm Ohlmeyer. “Todo se ha vendido y ese episodio quedó atrás”.
Según un informe de Forbes, aproximadamente 1,500 millones de dólares del patrimonio neto de West se atribuyeron a su asociación con Adidas. Desde entonces la marca ha comenzado a liquidar todo su inventario prometiendo donar todas las ganancias a organizaciones antisemitas, incluida la Liga Antidifamación.
