La población vulnerable por carencias sociales aumentó de 32,7 a 37,9 millones de personas entre 2018 y 2022, reportó el Coneval en la Medición Multidimensional de la Pobreza 2022

Los mexicanos tienen más dinero en el bolsillo después de la pandemia de Covid-19, pero tienen más carencias sociales.

La población en situación de pobreza multidimensional bajó de 51,9 a 46,8 millones de personas a nivel nacional entre 2018 y 2022, reveló este jueves 10 de agosto el Consejo Nacional de Evaluación de la Política de Desarrollo Social (Coneval), el organismo oficial por Ley que encargado de medir la pobreza en México.

Entre 2018 y 2022, el porcentaje de la población en situación de pobreza multidimensional a nivel nacional pasó de 41,9% a 36,3%, lo que significa que, en 2022, 36 de cada 100 mexicanos presentaban al menos una privación en sus derechos sociales y tenían un ingreso mensual por persona insuficiente para adquirir una canasta alimentaria, así como bienes y servicios necesarios.

El porcentaje de la población en situación de pobreza extrema permaneció en niveles similares entre 2018 y 2022, en 7% en 2018 y 7,1% en 2022, mostró la Medición de la Pobreza Multidimensional 2022 de Coneval.

Lo anterior indica que, el número de personas en pobreza extrema pasó de 8,7 a 9,1 millones de personas entre 2018 y 2022.

Entre 2018 y 2022, el porcentaje de la población con un ingreso inferior a la Línea de Pobreza por Ingresos (valor monetario de la canasta alimentaria más la canasta no alimentaria) pasó de 49,9% a 43,5%, es decir, el número de personas en esta situación pasó de 61,8 a 56,1 millones.

En agosto de 2022, el valor de las Línea de Pobreza por Ingreso por persona al mes fue de MXN$4.158,35 (aproximadamente US$244 dólares) mensuales para las zonas urbanas y $2.970,76 mensuales (US$174 dólares) para zonas rurales.

Mexicanos tienen más carencias sociales

A pesar de que hay un avance en la reducción de la pobreza en México, el Coneval reportó que hay más personas con carencias sociales.

La población vulnerable por carencias sociales aumentó de 32,7 a 37,9 millones de personas entre 2018 y 2022, lo que implicó que en 2022 el 29,4% de la población registrara carencias, desde un 26,4% reportado dos años antes.

De tal forma que Coneval reportó un aumento en la población con al menos tres carencias sociales, pues mientras en 2018 el 25% de la población tenía al menos tres carencias, para 2022 el porcentaje subió a 32,1%. La carencia de acceso a servicios de salud fue la que registró el mayor aumento entre los mexicanos.

El porcentaje de personas con carencia por acceso a los servicios de salud pasó de 16,2% a 39,1% entre 2018 y 2022, lo cual representa un cambio de 20,1 a 50,4 millones de personas en esta situación, respectivamente.

El porcentaje de personas con carencia por acceso a la seguridad social pasó de 53,5% a 50,2% entre 2018 y 2022; lo que equivale en número de personas pasar de 66,2 a 64,7 millones en esta situación, respectivamente, sigue siendo la carencia con mayor incidencia en pobreza.

El porcentaje de la población que presentó carencia por acceso a la alimentación nutritiva y de calidad bajó de 22,2% a 18,2% entre 2018 y 2022, es decir, de 27,5 a 23,4 millones de personas en esta situación, en este periodo.
