#INTERNACIONAL | La navidad es una de las temporadas más esperadas, donde los barrios se llenan de luces, música, adornos y se puede degustar de diversos platillos de la gastronomía mexicana. Y es que las posadas son una festividad navideña que tanto niños grandes esperan, pues es muy común ver en las calles a las personas caminando con sus velitas en la mano mientras cantan villancicos alegres.
Aunque se cree que es solo pasa en México también se lleva a cabo en diferentes países latinoamericanos como Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador y Panamá, así como en otros lugares del mundo. Las fechas comienzan el 16 de diciembre y terminan el 24 de diciembre, con un total de 9 días, representando los nueve meses de embarazo de la Virgen María.
En alguno de los 9 días previos al día de Navidad, varios hogares mexicanos celebran su posada en su casa. Cada día se dedica tradicionalmente a un valor: generosidad, humildad, caridad, fortaleza, desapego, pureza, justicia, alegría y confianza.
Durante las posadas se representa simbólicamente el peregrinaje de María y José en busca de un lugar donde alojarse antes del nacimiento de Jesús. Aunque se cree que esta celebración reemplaza a una mucho más antigua que los aztecas celebraban durante el solsticio de invierno en honor al dios de la guerra, Huitzilopochtli. En la época prehispánica de México, estos festejos se llevaban a cabo durante una semana y comenzaron el 6 de diciembre.
Con la llegada de los españoles a México, los evangelizadores cristianos aprovecharon la festividad para compartir y expandir la tradición cristiana de la Navidad. Así que, el origen de las posadas surge de una combinación de tradiciones europeas y prehispánicas.
De hecho, la costumbre se convirtió en la tradición de los aguinaldos, en la que los niños y niñas recorren las casas cantando villancicos para pedir un aguinaldo navideño y en México llevo a las personas a invitar a familiares, vecinos y personas de su vecindario para conmemorar el viaje de María y José a Belén antes del nacimiento de Jesús.
La representación de Las Posadas involucra tanto a los invitados como a los familiares que invitan a la fiesta y en este festejo se entona la melodía convencional y luego se pronuncia una oración del Padrenuestro.
La canción es una conversación de María y José donde los diferentes vecinos piden un alojamiento, mientras que los peregrinos buscaron refugio en Belén, como cuenta la Biblia, pero muchos no quisieron ayudarlos porque no tenían suficiente dinero.
Finalmente, un posadero humilde decide darles acceso en los establos porque sentía la necesidad de ayudar a María, que estaba a punto de dar a luz a su bebé y es así como los invitados interpretan la voz de los peregrinos y los miembros del hogar de los distintos alojamientos que visitan.
