Desde que debutó en la televisión como el doble de Eduardo Yañez en ‘Dulce Desafío’, en 1988, Fernando Colunga ha participado en más de 30 telenovelas, películas y obras de teatro, la mayoría de ellas como protagonista.
Por eso se ha ganado a pulso su lugar como uno de los grandes galanes de telenovela más importantes de las últimas décadas.
Ha sido el interés amoroso de Thalía en ‘María la del Barrio’ y de Aracely Arámbula en ‘La Usurpadora’. Con ambas actrices se le ligó sentimentalmente, aunque poco se supo de dichas relaciones. Y es que desde que era muy joven Fernando ha procurado siempre mantener su vida personal y profesional completamente separadas, una lección que aprendió «de la manera más ruda».
«Yo tenía una muy buena relación, me iba muy bien, pero el día que se hizo pública se volvió un desastre», recordó entrevista con Mara Patricia Castañeda para su canal de Youtube.
«Me di cuenta de que no era el camino que yo quería tomar, no utilizar a nadie ni que nadie me utilizara a mí para tratar de figurar», explicó. Por ello ni aclara, ni confirma, ni desmiente ningún chisme que provenga de la prensa. En la entrevista, no obstante, reconoció que vive un gran momento de su vida, aunque la identidad de la mujer que lo hace feliz sigue siendo todo un misterio.
«¿Por qué voy a poner mi relación en tela de juicio para ver si a alguien le gusta o no le gusta, cuando yo lo disfruto tanto? Yo estoy contento, me va muy bien, me tratan muy bien ¡Y me aguantan, que no es tan fácil!», reveló entre risas.
Fernando tampoco esconde su relación. Sale con su mujer, viaja con ella y hacen vida juntos. Simplemente, no habla de eso ni se relacionan en el ambiente laboral.
«Yo me he encontrado viniendo con mi mujer un montón de gente en los aviones, periodistas verdaderamente respetables. Nada más les da risa y me dicen ‘no te preocupes, no voy a decir nada porque sé cómo eres tú y no quieres embarrar tu vida privada, lo respeto’. Porque además yo he mantenido esa coherencia toda mi vida», explicó.
Esta coherencia le ha permitido navegar por las aguas de la fama sin dar explicaciones a nadie sobre su vida personal, sin importarle qué piensan los demás o qué chismes inventan sobre él.
Aunque los rumores apuntan a que la pareja de Colunga es Blanca Soto, a quien conoció durante las grabaciones de ‘Porque el amor manda’ -incluso fueron captados besándose en 2016-, ambos han rechazado tajantemente hablar siquiera del tema.
«Entonces ves que dicen ‘es que debe tener algún misterio, algo esconde’. Bueno está bien, algo escondo, pero no voy a tirar lo que es mío. Afortunadamente, mi mujer me entiende y lo apoya», dijo.
No obstante, el actor rompió brevemente su hermetismo para afirmar que siguen firmes sus planes de convertirse en padre: «todavía estoy en el proceso. Yo nunca he estado negado a tener un hijo y si no lo he tenido realmente es porque la vida no había querido que lo hiciera».
