Esta semana la ciudad de Cancún, Quintana Roo, será el epicentro del kickboxing en el país con la segunda edición del Abierto Mexicano de Kickboxing que convocó a más de 300 participantes de distintas partes del mundo.
Fernando Granados León, presidente de la Federación Nacional de la especialidad (FENAKIB) & WAKO México, señaló desde la sede que este evento de alcance internacional reúne a competidores élite de diferentes categorías en ambas ramas.
“Este viernes se llevará a cabo la ceremonia de inauguración del Mexican Open, que reúne a 300 atletas de 9 países y con alrededor de 500 registros en las diferentes categorías, quienes se medirán en un escenario ideal en el Hotel Grand Oasis Cancún”, afirmó.
El primer Mexican Open se llevó a cabo por primera vez en mayo del 2022 en la Riviera Maya y ahora el objetivo es posicionarlo a nivel global.
“Desde siempre, el objetivo de WAKO México es ofrecer torneos de calidad y como deben de ser, en el caso del Abierto Mexicano de Kickboxing es convertirlo en el más importante del continente americano en el mediano plazo y ahora en Cancún podemos constatarlo con seleccionados de varios países que le dan mayor realce y nivel competitivo”, explicó Granados León.
El presidente de la FENAKIB & WAKO México informó que la competencia, que arrancó este jueves con el registro, pesaje y chequeo médico, podrá seguirse en vivo a través del canal oficial de WAKO México en YouTube.
“Empezamos este viernes a las 10:00 horas tiempo de Cancún y contaremos con la asistencia de autoridades de la Comisión para la Juventud y el Deporte de Quintana Roo (COJUDEQ), de la Comisión Nacional de Cultura Física y Deporte (Conade) y de los presidentes de las Asociaciones estatales de la FENAKIB”, finalizó.

En el marco del torneo, también se llevará a cabo la segunda etapa del Campamento de Evaluación y Desarrollo Deportivo 2023 para los seleccionados nacionales con el apoyo del equipo multidisciplinario de la FENAKIB.
